What kind of camera is good for taking pictures of cats with their eyes open?
January 1, 2009 by Cam · 6 Comments
I have purchased two digital cameras and neither of them have allowed me to take a picture with my cat's eyes open. They are always closed.
I had an old Sony DSC S50 many years ago and it allowed me to take semi-okay cat pictures, but since it was taken from me, I've found no other camera (especially a new one.. that was a cam from like 2000) that can.
If there are any cat lovers out there who take good pictures of their cats with a digital camera, I'd love to hear tips/tricks/what brand of camera they use.
What camera is best to start off with if you want to take those professional-looking pictures?

Clearly, I know nothing about cameras. I want to start taking pictures of my daily adventures but I don't want to just use a plain old digital camera. Any suggestions on what camera I should buy to get professional quality pictures? Thanks in advance!
What type of digital camera would you reccomend for me?

I'm going off to college in a few months, and sadly I will have to leave my family's canon powershot at home. I'm looking to buy a new camera, and was wondering what a "camera expert" would reccomend for me.
First of all I can only spend about 200 dollars. My absolute max would be about 230. Oh and I don't want to buy this camera on ebay because I don't trust ebay well enough to buy expensive electronics on it. I will buy online tho.
I want the highest quality camera that I can get with my money. I want it to be very compact as I am used to my family's powershot with can fit in the palm of my hand very easily. I'd like a big screen on it as well and perferably one that I can actually see in the sun. An actual viewfinder would be a plus, but not absolutly necessary.
I need the camera to be a fast as possible as well because I can't stand sitting around for 30 seconds between pictures. Print quality also must be a good as can be acheieved with 200 dollars.
Here's some more info about what I want.
I'd like to have a decent view. The camera we have now only has a 3x zoom and when you zoom even a little bit the quality gets depleated.
As far as the brand goes I don't really care. We have a Canon now, but I can't find a camera on their site that fills my requirements.
Any help would be appreciated. Links to cheap websites with your camera reccomendation would be great!
What kind of digital camera do you have?

I don't really know anything about digital cameras but I want to buy one. What are the cameras called, that are not digital, just "normal" ones? I used to like those better because the quality seemed to much more professional. The lighting seemed warmer, colors seemed brighter. On digital cameras it seems that everything looks paler, etc. Is it just me? I wanted a digital camera that had those qualities to it, with a good price, if possible. What kind of digital camera do you have?

What is the best camera for an amateur who can’t spend too much money?

I ordred a proffesional camera from E-Bay, and when it came in, it did not even work! I guess that's E-Bay for you. We are in the process of returning it. In the meantime my husband was able to get me a camera at a low cost from where he works, but it is only a small digital camera. The pictures I have taken with it are still not as good as I would have hoped, regardless of how the subject is posed and the angle I am shooting at. I understand about trying to photograph in the early morning and late evening to acheive the best lighting. But the colors are still not very bright and the picture not very sharp. Do I really just need to get a more professional camera to acheive this, or is it possible to get good quality photos from a cheap camera with the right experience? What type of camera would you recommend for an amateur photographer, when we really can't afford the thousand dollar ones?
What camera quality do you look for when shopping for a camera?

I'm going to college pretty soon and I'm trying to buy my own camera, but the thing is I don't know what to look for in a digital camera. I'll be using the camera for taking pictures on special occasions (day and night) and on casual days as well. I'm looking for something that takes really good pictures, but nothing too expensive!
what camera should I buy to replace the three I have?

I am tired of carrying 3 cameras everywhere I go! I have the following: (1) a small point and shoot digital camera, 2 years old, (needed for its convenient size, instant picture review, and ease of e-mailing pictures), (2) a Minolta Maxuum 35 mm, 17 years old, with various lenses (needed for taking wide angles, telephotos, and doing creative photography that the digital one can't handle), and (3) a digital tape (mini DV) camcorder, 3 years old. I have been carrying all three of them around all week while hiking in the Grand Canyon, and have decided I need to find one camera that will do everything I need! Don't want to spend a fortune, but want something that is fully digital, gives the quality and lens changing options of the Minolta, and takes videos. Oh yes, and preferably is not too heavy! Does such a camera exist? What is it called? How much does it cost? THANK YOU!
What camera is advertised in the current TV ad where a guys camera is borrowed by the girls at the party?

You know the one where they shoot lots of pics and then slip the camera back before he arrives only to find lots of photos of the girls on his camera. The camera has a short recycle time between photos. What is the brand/model of the camera?
